click picture for attire & accessoriesThursday, 7:17 P.M. The Ritz Hotel, London ... it was fun while it lasted ...
"I'll be meeting someone here around 8 'o clock." Her hand gently slid a picture of this certain someone, and a room key across the counter. The young female human across from her picked it up, her eyes immediately widening and mouth slightly opening in awe at the image she held before her. It took a couple of minutes, and an abrupt sound of Evelyn pretending to clear her throat, for the human's feeble mind to remind itself that there was still a customer in her presence. "Tell him the room number has changed. It's room 2012 now." Her frail head shook up and down so quickly, it almost looked like it was about to fall off; part of Evelyn kind of hoped that it would. A quick, false smile and immediately she turned from the counter and headed up to the room.
Without thinking, she originally had reserved "The Prince of Wales" suite, which was the best suite in the hotel. That was Evelyn's style; always the best, and nothing less. For the purpose of this meeting, however, maybe "The Prince of Wales" was a little too much. So, Evelyn downsized to "The Royal Suite", which was the second best suite in the hotel.
Sitting in one the large, deep red arm chairs, Evelyn's eyes gazed emptily through one of the windows that overlooked Green Park. It was always so pretty at night, despite the fact that there were still a few humans playing around in the grass, infesting it with their dirty, yet delicious little cooties. Even tinted by the night, the grass was almost a light green underneath the luminescent lights. No matter how her eyes tried to focus on the beautiful scene she saw before her, her mind was too preoccupied with other thoughts to pay attention. Instead of the park in front of her, her mind focused on the sounds of her recent past words in the voice mail she left him.
"It's Evelyn. I'll be at the Ritz Hotel, Room 1472, 8 'o clock ...." A slight pause. "Don't bother bringing an extra pair of clothes....." -click- Maybe she shouldn't have made it sound so obviously unusual.
For starters, if this was one of their usual meetings, she wouldn't have met him in London. No, Tokyo has become one of her favorite destinations, lately. The city was always busy, big, and bright, and the people made decent dinners. Plus, it was always fun to tell Kai, "Hey, I need a translator."
A very disappointed sigh brushed past her soft, naturally dark lips as Evelyn rested her elbow on one arm of the chair and rested her forehead between her thumb and index finger. Thoughts and images in her mind about the past couple of visits to Tokyo almost made her cringe in disgust with herself. Nothing against Kai, of course; he's been a great sport. He hasn't missed a meeting, yet, and she can't honestly say that her past visits with him in Tokyo weren't enjoyable. Yeah ... they'll always have Tokyo.
A light chuckle slipped passed her clenched teeth. It's nothing personal, it never was anything personal, but Evelyn's had enough fun, playing around with him, and now it's time to put her little toy back up on the shelf.
She couldn't lie to herself, though. If she hadn't met him, then this meeting would've definitely taken place in Tokyo. Him. The one with the icy blue eyes that frightened every bone in Evelyn's body, and the perfect little cheekbones, so tempting to lightly tap on with her fingers or lips. The one that always had those damn gloves on, too afraid of how much pleasure he would feel with them off. Her partner in crime, mentor, gossip buddy, tease, annoying little angel and devil on her shoulders, confusing logic puzzle, almost like Evelyn's little maid with the way he cleans up after her messes. Mmmm, him, with such an intelligent mind filled with so much evil that it makes her want to ... well ...
She'd better stop right there, before this "break-up" meeting with Kai turns into a desperate need to release a lot of built-up energy. Where were we, again? Oh, yes, that's right. Him. Gordon.
It was definitely awkward, setting up a meeting to see someone you used for your own, selfish, physical desires just to tell them that their body is of no use to you anymore. Sure, she could've just never called him again. He would've gotten the point, eventually, but even as her little play toy, she still held some respect for Kai. He was such a fun character, just as evil and messy as Evelyn was, and he has been more than pleasing, giving Evelyn exceptional service throughout these past few months. Besides, this little fling did cause quite the ruckus in his marriage. The least Evelyn could do was at least tell the vampire she was breaking it off with him. He deserved some manners from her.
Manners ... Remember Gordon? Yes, well, go ahead and add bad (but intentionally good) influence to that long list of things he is, right after tease, but somewhere before Evelyn's little maid.
Manners, she couldn't hold in the laughter from that. Slouching further in her little chair, Evelyn glanced over to the clock that was on the nightstand.
7:58 P.M.
Another little laugh, followed by a content sigh and a roll of the eyes. "The things I give up for you, my little Russian boy."
