She definitely stood out in this city. Normally, Evelyn was annoyed when others stared at her, but in this case it was understandable. There was nothing Asian about Evelyn's features. So, it was obvious that she wasn't from Tokyo. Evelyn thought about the city for a moment as she tipped the bottle and poured herself another small glass of sake. Her eyes glanced toward the window. She thought for a moment as she watched all of the people walking by. This city was beautiful, but Evelyn wasn't so sure about the people here.
They all looked the same. Everyone had the same hair color, eye shape, skin tone, and most of them were pretty much the same height. Besides the few tourists that walked by, everyone here pretty much looked the same. It was boring and bland. She may have been a little racist in her thoughts, but for a moment Evelyn was kind of grateful that she was born an English woman, and not a Japanese woman.
She turned her head at the sound of someone's voice. Evelyn didn't catch anything he said, but it was something in Japanese, not English. She just smile and nodded, and assuming that what he wanted was to know if there was anything more she wanted, she picked up the empty sake bottle and gave it a slight shake. The waiter smile and nodded and walked off.
She would have to learn Japanese. Evelyn enjoyed this city very much. Even though everyone looked the same, there were so many fascinating places to see. There were a tons of old shrines to visit and newer, modern buildings to look at. The city was vibrant and amazing at night. Yes, she would definately have to buy that Rosetta Stone stuff and learn some of the language.
A glimpse of a bright color flashing by caused Evelyn's attention to return to the window. In the midst of the black haired crowd, there was a group of five girls that stood out. Each one of them had different colored hair; one of them was bright pink, another was bright orange; there was one with blue hair, one with platinum blonde hair, and the last one had purple hair. Their clothing was outrageous. It was messy, yet stylish. They wore every color on and off the rainbow. One girl had a neon orange tutu with black sparkles, tight blue jeans, and rainbow striped leggings.
Evelyn wouldn't dare be so bold with her clothing like these girls were, but she admired them for their creativity. They walked around with pride and seemed to enjoy being different from the crowd. Good. They should be proud of themselves. Being different from the crowd was a hard thing to do for humans. Bravo for the little girls being so brave and daring.
It took about five more minutes to finish the bottle. She leaned back and turned it around, studying the Japanese writing on it. Evelyn had no clue what any of it meant. Hmmmm. Japanese was certainly going to be a difficult language for her to learn.

Business. It was the only reason why Kai ever came to Tokyo anymore. It was his hometown; the town where he was given up for adoption only to be taken in by his own uncle; the place where he learned about the infamous Yakuza only to become involved in it. Not that he minded getting involved in the first place. If it weren’t for the Yakuza he wouldn’t have been able to have all the things he had. He wouldn’t have gotten the opportunity to travel and move to London. Regardless of the fact that it was the mafia and the activities they ran were illegal, he was still thankful for it.
After spending nearly the entire day cooped up in an office only to listen to other men’s incessant arguing, Kai wanted a break. He wanted to do anything that didn’t involve signing contracts and making deals. The only thing that he could think of doing was going to a local bar or even a simple restaurant to lounge around and drown himself in Sake. Bars normally irritated him because he felt uncomfortable in over crowded spaces so the latter sounded much more appealing.
Just as it had been when he lived here years ago, the streets were busy and filled with different types of people. Business men, young couples, the few harajuku girls, and of course a few kids still in their school uniforms; the streets of Tokyo seemed to never be empty no matter the time of day, or night rather. Kai, himself would fit right in with the ‘business men’ category and of course, the small group of vampires. The idea of vampires blending in so easily made the vampire himself feel somewhat uneasy. Why? During the time he had lived in Japan he was nothing but a mere mortal and the thought of still being a mortal and easily having his life ended by one of the undead frightened him. Thank goodness he was given ‘the gift’.
Inhaling softly he let the various aromas around him push the thoughts free from his mind. The smell of gas being burnt in cars to the scent of cheap perfumes and colognes from the people near by overwhelmed him. There was one particular aura that stood out though. Food; sushi. It was the number one thing he loved consuming back when he was a mortal.
He hummed a soft ”Mmm…” as he followed the scent, brushing himself past the group of giggling girls decked in bright obnoxious colors. Curling his frigid fingers around the door handle, he took a step back and pulled the door open letting the warm air and smell of cooked as well as uncooked food engulf him. He took a moment to survey the small restaurant before stepping inside.
Absentmindedly his tongue rolled over the tips of his fangs as he crossed the room in search for a vacant table. On his way towards one, something tugged at his attention and he couldn’t help but stop to watch the little American vampire look over the Sake bottle. She looked American to him anyways.
”It says Nigorizake.” he said out loud to her as she examined the characters. He immediately knew that she was not just a mere mortal. For one, she was pale as can be and second, all vampires had a distinct smell to them. It didn’t occur to him that maybe this woman wouldn’t appreciate some stranger reading Japanese characters out loud for her but what did it matter? What was the most she was going to do? Shoo him away?
”I didn’t mean to intrude but it looked as if you had some trouble reading the Kanji.” He forced a soft smirk to reassure her that he hadn’t meant any harm. ”Not to be rude but, I can tell you’re not from here… You kind of stick out like a sore thumb.” He had a bit of an English accent laced in his tone as he spoke. When he had first moved to London he had spoken English without any kind of accent but after living in England for a few years, the damned tonality had rubbed off on him.

The waiter stopped by again and asked her something else. Evelyn looked up at him, and then followed his eyes as he shifted them toward the table. He was looking at the menu.
Well, she has been here for almost a half-hour, and she hasn't ordered anything yet. She looked at the menu questionably for a moment, then she picked it up. Evelyn might as well order a few rolls of sushi while she was wasting this poor boy's time. Hmmm, that was easier said than done. The whole menu was in japanese as well. If it wasn't for the pictures, Evelyn would've had no idea where the sushi section was.
The waiter said something else and began to walk away, but Evelyn shook her head. "No ..." She pointed to the menu. "This one." No, she had no idea what she pointed to, but if she tried to decifer this language, she would've never been able to figure out which roll she wanted. So, she pointed to a random one. It didn't matter which one she ate, anyways.
He nodded and walked off, and Evelyn's eyes glanced down at the bottle again. This was starting to bug her. She definately made the decision, when she picked up the sake bottle, again, that she would learn the language before she came back here. Sign language was entertaining, but not knowing at least one word in Japanese made Evelyn feel very stupid.
She looked up quickly at the sound of a very familiar language. Normally, people interrupting her would've annoyed her, but whoever interrupted her did it in English, so they were excused for tonight. Her eyes widened a bit when she saw an asian male standing in front of her. From the slight london accent, she half expected someone who looked more ... English, but beggers can't be choosers, and the fact that he was also a vampire just made him that much more amazing.
Nigo ... Neye-go-ree- ... Nay-gore-eye .. Fuck it. Evelyn wasn't even going to try to repeat what the vampire said. She glanced at the bottle again, and her face immediately made a very puzzled look. That did not look like Neye-gory-whatever at all. "Uh ... Okay." She accepted whatever name he said it was and put the bottle down, pushing it away. She wanted to nothing to do with it, now.
”I didn’t mean to intrude but it looked as if you had some trouble reading the Kanji.”
Kahn-G. That word seemed simple enough to pronounce, and it obviously meant that it was language on the bottle, or the writing. She smirked back at his little smirk and nodded. "No, I'm definitely not from here." Her smirk grew a little bit as her English accent came out more. "You don't sound too native, yourself." If he hadn't spoke, though, Evelyn wouldn't have thought for a second that he was from anywhere near England. "How long ago did you move to London?"
A very protruding smell whiffed across Evelyn's nose. Ewww, whoever ordered the eel and some other unknown, disgusting thing has extremely bad taste in food. Evelyn tried the eel once, last night, and it was absolutely disgusting. Her face slightly scrunched up as she saw her little waiter boy walk closer to the table. Then, she realized he was walking to HER table.
Ew. Her hand curved up slightly into a small fist. She ordered the eel and some other disgusting unknown thing.
"Shit." She hit the table softly. Well, it was soft for a vampire. Some humans looked around at the loud sound. Evelyn retreated her hand and hid it under the table, as if she did nothing.
"You should have came sooner." She said to the guy as the waiter placed the plates of sushi on the table. Evelyn's face scrunched up even more in disgust. "I could've really used you when I was ordering THAT."
She wasn't going to eat it. She'd pay for it, so the little Asian waiter could get his nice tip, but there was no way in hell she would eat that. She much rather eat the waiter than that disgusting thing.

The English accent laced in her voice came off as a bit of a shock to him. Normally he was able to distinguish Americans from ‘Londoners’. The woman who sat before him appeared to be American but of course, her accent gave it all away. It was somewhat a relief, though. Most Americans weren’t friendly to begin with.
Her question about him moving brought a crooked smirk to his face. Judging by her question and the way she hadn’t gotten annoyed by him reading the name written down the Sake bottle, she didn’t mind his presence. He gestured toward the seat that was set across from her and slowly pulled the seat out for himself before slipping into it. Thinking over her question a bit, he pressed his back against the back of the chair as his eyes drifted over the set of chopsticks that were set over a folded napkin. It had been quite some time since he had used the wooden utensils.
”I’ve lived in London for half a decade now. So far I like it but I miss this place a lot… I’m only here in Tokyo for business.” Pausing for a moment, he moved his right hand over the table, grazing his fingertips over the sides of one of the chopsticks. He let his hazel eyes move away from the little contraption only to fall back onto her pale face. He silently took note that she was beautiful, as most female vampires were. They were always flawless. So it appeared that way anyways.
Before he continued, he took a moment to survey the tiny restaurant examining the unfamiliar faces that surrounded them. Everyone, of course, was jabbering in Japanese and every now and then an English word or two was thrown into a couple of the conversations he overheard. He turned his focuses back to the vampiress and he couldn’t help but shoot her in inquisitive glance as a grimace washed over her face. He originally planned to ask her why she was in Tokyo and how long she had been living in London but the questions were now lost and replaced by another.
As she cursed and hit her fists against the table, he let out a snicker as he crossed his arms over his chest. She was clearly upset about something and that something was placed before her on the narrow plate. Inhaling quietly, he let the smell of the fresh cut eel attack his senses and his mouth couldn’t help but water. Eel had always been his favorite growing up and it was one of the many things he missed dearly after he had moved out of the country.
”How could you not like eel? Eel is my favorite.” Holding his hand up slightly, he flagged down the waiter. He spoke to the young boy in Japanese, explaining how his ‘friend’ wasn’t aware of what she had ordered and would much prefer something without eel. He then ordered another tall bottle of Sake and reassured the boy that the eel roll would not be wasted because well, Kai planned to eat it.
Turning his gaze back to the Londoner, he gave her a reassuring smile then nodded towards the dish in front of her. ”You know in Japan, wasting food is looked down upon.” he chuckled softly and took his chopsticks into his left hand, swiftly put them in place and began pushing and pulling the two points open and close.
”I ordered you something without eel though that I think you might like.” With that said he pulled the plate in front of her towards him, using the ends of his chopsticks to do so. He wasted no time in pinching a piece of the roll between his utensils before shoving it into his mouth, a childish smile crossing his face. ”I’m Kai by the way.” he announced, his mouthful. He could care less if he was being rude or not. He had saved her the trouble of having to gag down something she obviously found utterly disgusting.

It really wasn't that funny, it smelled funny, but it wasn't that funny. The smell of the eel was protruding her nose in such an uncomfortable way that made Evelyn push her chair out a couple of inches. Really, how could anyone like this animal for food. The smell alone was enough to make Evelyn's stomache roll. Gross.
The waiter didn't look too happy about Evelyn's reaction, which was understandable. She really should've made sure that she ordered something she liked. It didn't really matter, anyways. It's not like she ate that kind of food, anyways.
Evelyn glanced down at the plate. "Well, I won't be wasting it. You said you like eel, right?" She raised her lips into a small smile, and scooted herself back toward the table as he took the plate from her. The smile grew larger at the site of him stuffing his face and speaking with a full mouth like some human. Evelyn chuckled.
"Evelyn ... and thanks." She replied. Other people that saw her face would've not seen such a beautiful expression like usual. Her face kept changing from entertained to disgusted as she glanced from Kai's face to the plate and back up to his face again. She wasn't sure whether or not she wanted to laugh or throw up.
Luckily, she didn't have to do the latter. The waiter came out after only a few moments with whatever the vampire decided to order for her. He placed the plate and bottle of sake down on the table, said something quickly in Japanese, and walked off. Evelyn could tell that he just wanted her to leave the restaurant now. Wow, Japanese people weren't shy about letting you know how they feel. How bold. Evelyn kind of liked it.
"Oh." She looked down at the tempura roll curiously. It smelled decent enough, and although it wasn't blood, it wasn't totally inedible. Evelyn grabbed her chopsticks and struggled for a moment at opening and closing them. It's been a while since she's used these. She got the hang of it though, and picked up the first piece.
"It's ...." Well, it was disgusting. Food just didn't do it for Evelyn. Her mouth moved from side to side across her face. "It's not blood." she shrugged and finally concluded as she poured a glass of sake and shot it down.

Regardless of the fact that human food no longer satisfied Kai’s hunger as much as blood did, he still enjoyed it. Though he would never admit it to any of his fellow vampires, he missed the contentment mortal meals brought. No matter. He could always stuff his face with human food just for the taste then gorge himself with blood afterwards for mere satisfaction.
Chewing on his now third piece of roll out of the seven pieces that lay before him, he gave her a simple nod at the mention of her name while he poured himself a shot of Sake. He would have drank straight from the bottle but he figured she would have been disgusted if he did so. He was after all, nearly a complete stranger to her. Finally swallowing the eel, rice, and seaweed, he quickly washed it down with a shot of the cloudy liquid.
Once his mouth was completely free, he gave his response. ”Well Evelyn, it’s nice to meet you.” Again, he wasted no time in shoving yet another piece of sushi into his awaiting mouth, eyeing the waiter as he placed Eve’s food before her. He had ordered her a shrimp tempura roll; something that was cooked. He figured since the eel left her disgusted, that she may not have enjoyed anything that was uncooked.
A hand was raised to flag down the waiter once more as he attempted to scurry off. The poor boy was clearly agitated by the Londoner but who could blame him? It was difficult to communicate with anyone with the whole language barrier. Speaking in Japanese, he ordered yet another roll for himself along with a bottle of hot Sake. As he ordered, he couldn’t help but move his eyes towards a group of young women that nosily barged in, yapping about how their days were and some complaining about boyfriends or husbands; two things that didn’t matter to Kai. All four women were carefully surveyed by the hungry vampire before he nodded the waiter off to place in his second order.
Temptation washed over him as he trailed his eyes back over to the women who seated themselves just to the left of their table. Part of him wanted to set his chopsticks down and saunter on over to one of them, or all of them, and seduce one into the back alleyway beside the restaurant building to feed. But he couldn’t. He had sushi to finish. Like he had explained to Evelyn before, wasting food in Japan was frowned upon.
”It’s…not blood.”
A scoff left him as he turned back to face the vampires before looking down at his food. For one reason or another he began to feel disgusted by the goodies that lay before him. Shaking his head slightly, he forced all thoughts of feeding from his mind and shoved not one, but two pieces of sushi into his mouth. ”You got that right.” Talking nearly made him choke on bits of rice and seaweed. He coughed a bit then went back to chewing and swallowing his food.
”If you don’t want it,” he paused for a moment to swallow the remaining rice left in his mouth. ”I’ll eat it. You can order whatever you want.” Another pause was given as he gestured towards the menu set under her plate, using the ends of his chopsticks to point. ”And if you want something else go ahead and order. I got the bill anyways.”
Oddly enough, the thought of Elio popped into his mind. His wife, who remained back home in London while he was out on his little business trip. He would have offered for her to come but he knew he would have felt rushed during his meetings simply because he would want to spend time showing her around Tokyo rather than working. He began to wonder how she would feel about him having dinner with another woman, especially another vampire. Fuck it. What was she going to do? Yell at him for it? As if she hadn't done that enough already.
What was he worried about? Not like he had his wedding ring on anyways so questions of his little wife wouldn't be brought on. Did he love his wife? Of course. But did he wear his wedding ring all the time? Of course not. The main reason why he had done such a seemingly selfish little act was because it was much easier to lure his prey that way. He had once tried to hunt with the little piece of jewelry on and the victim had spotted it right away which in turn scared her off. Kai always did things for a reason. Always.

A wolf in sheep's clothing; she appeared similar to a human, but Evelyn wasn't one of them. That saying, "If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, and looks like a duck ..." it didn't apply to her. She walked upright, spoke their language, and even covered her body with the same fabrics they used to cover theirs, but she wasn't in any way similar to them. Evelyn couldn't even conceive the thought that she was once a human being. No, never mind that silly thought. She never was human, never. Evelyn was always a vampire, nothing else.
She didn't even seem human-like to the humans around her. Everything she did was always done a little differently, and much better, than them. When she walked, she glided across the floor. The tone carried in her voice was much more alluring, and her mind was definitely much sharper than theirs. Everything about Evelyn hinted that she wasn't normal. Everyone that looked at her knew she had to be more than just human.
But him, the vampire that sat across the table from her, he looked so natural in this setting. The food in front of him held no nutritional value for him what-so-ever, and yet he ate it like a natural. There was nothing disgusting about this to him at all. He used to eat stuff like this all the time.
A slight chuckled escaped her lips. The vampire male was finally showing; she saw it clearly in his eyes as he looked over toward the group of young women. She pushed the shrimp plate toward him. He would obviously enjoy it much more than her. Maybe Evelyn would find something a little more tasty in the menu, anyways. She glanced down at it, and then shook her head. "No." She replied, pouring herself another shot. "Thanks, but sake will do just fine." As long as he was paying, which she knew he would do, she might as well have a few more bottles.
Her eyes flickered down toward his left hand. It was a little habit Evelyn picked up while she taught herself to hunt. Taken or not, any man would go after her, but the single men were always the easiest. In any case, it didn't matter. She wasn't hunting Kai, and she definitely didn't give a crap if he was single or not. She's never dated a vampire ... ever. Anything that could lead into love was just something Evelyn never messed with, but that's a different story.
Her eyes shifted over toward the girls sitting at a nearby table. Evelyn couldn't help but overhear all of their complaints about the horrible boys they fell for. He didn't say I love you when he hung up the phone last night!! ... He forgot our three week anniversary!! ... He said my friend was cute!!
Such petty little things humans complain over.
"I can watch the food," she told Kai as her head nudged toward the little girls' table. "Go ahead and get yourself a real meal. Their complaining is annoying me." She winked as she took her shot and poured herself another.
Evelyn grabbed the menu and waived her hand as the waiter walked by. He didnt seem to be too happy that she was ordering again, but this time Evelyn knew what she was going to get.
"Miso Soup." She pointed to the picture in the menu. Thank god there was a picture. The waiter nodded and walked off.
"Hmmm, maybe after that soup, I'll get some real dinner, too." She commented.

Kai looked up from his food only to allow his eyes to lock with the other vampire’s eyes. As her head nodded towards the table beside them which was occupied with the four woman that stormed in yapping away, he rolled his shoulders in a shrug and held the last piece of eel roll in front of him with the chopsticks. ”That my friend, is a very tempting idea.” Shooting her a wink he gestured the piece of sushi out towards her as if to say ‘cheers’ and shoved it into his mouth with a smile.
Typically, he would have dove into the offer but doing so in the middle of a human meal wasn’t a good idea. It would ruin his appetite for it, which in turn meant he’d have to waste the food that was left in front of him, and he still had a lot to eat. Other than the second order of eel roll he got for himself, he had her shrimp tempura roll to devour. Not that he minded. He could gobble it all up in less than five minutes if he wanted to.
”Let’s save the woman for dessert.” His eyes narrowed towards the group of girls again, feeling the eyes of one of them on himself. Smiling crookedly, he pushed the now empty plate away from himself and pulled the other closer. Again, his eyes were set down to the meal before him. ”If you can’t stand their incessant nagging then I’ll watch the food and you can go get yourself a real meal.”
With that said he shoved two maybe three pieces of the roll into his mouth, chewing quickly before swallowing most of it whole. The waiter had come back just in time to witness the vampire annihilate the shrimp tempura roll in a matter of seconds. Wide-eyed, the young boy set down the third plate of food along with the bottle of steaming liquor and Miso soup. Kai gave the boy a nonverbal ‘thanks’ by simply nodding his head, a crooked smile crossing his face. Not only was the waiter watching him but a few people, along with the girls beside them were watching him.
If they want a show then I’ll give it to them. After swallowing the last piece of shrimp tempura roll which nearly got lodged in ihs throat since he hadn't chewed it thoroughly, he curled his cold fingers around the neck of the bottle of hot sake and brought it to his lips. Tilting his head back, he let the warm liquid flow into his mouth and down his throat until the bottle itself was completely emptied out. If he were a mortal, there would have been no way he could have been table to down the entire bottle filled with steaming alcohol. Being a vampire and all had its advantages and he was all too used to having anything but cold liquid flowing through him.
The gasps of shocked patrons did nothing but egg him on and he kept the end of the bottle pressed against his lips until there was not even a single drop left. ”Ah…” He held the bottle out to the shocked waiter while he began devouring his third and final roll.

He should've toasted with the sake, but Evelyn excused that mistake this time. After the last piece of sushi disappeared into his mouth, she dipped her head slightly to return the little toast, smirking in the process.
"No, thank you. I don't eat women." How polite of him to ask, though.
She would've gone over there herself, but female humans weren't to appetizing. Their blood was slightly different from the males, and Evelyn wasn't too sure why, but it was less tasty. Besides, her main hunting strategy was seducing her prey, and the male humans were much easier to do that with than the females.
Her narrowed eyes wandered away from Kai as he continued to stuff his face with more humanly disgusting food. This was always her first move when she hunted. She scanned the surrounding area, looking for the perfect dinner candidate in the pack. She was always picky about her meal, though. Obviously, it would have to be a male who carried around a lot of cash, since that was her main source of income, and he would obviously have to have good blood running through him, too.
It was always easy to pick out the ones with bad blood. The smell definitely gave it away, but their actions did as well. For example, two men were sitting by the bar (No, that wasn't a joke). One of them was alone had already had about 7 drinks with a lot of gin in each one. His liver definitely took some damage from that, and damaged liver never made for good blood. The other man, however, bought a lot of similar drinks, but they were for the someone else, not himself. He hadn't touched one thing with alcohol this entire evening, and his blood didn't smell like he had alcohol in recent past, as well.
He was definitely a possibility. If he had enough money to buy the miss sitting next to him a couple of drinks, he was definitely able to take care of himself quite comfortably. And the female was no problem, they never were. The second the man glanced over and caught Evelyn's eye, she new that whatever the female meant to him before, she definitely meant much less to him now.
"I get stared at quite enough, thank you." She pointed out to Kai as her direction returned to the falsely hungry little vampire. "You're making yourself look like a pig, and me look anorexic. Not that I care, but the man at the bar does." He head slightly nudged toward him. It was subtle, yet noticeable enough for the human male to see it. Oh, he's being talked about now, and from the corner of her eye, it was obvious to see that he didn't mind it too much.
The miso soup wasn't too bad. It wasn't blood, but she didn't expect anything here to taste close to it. The soup was hot and liquidy, that was enough to make herself look like she could eat a little something.
Thank god Kai did eat quickly, though. The man just took out his wallet, which meant she didn't have much time left. Dropping the spoon into the bowl, and not giving a damn if leaving it there was rude or not, Evelyn pushed back her chair and stood up. She wasn't going to just leave the vampire, though. Who knows when Evelyn would see another one in this city.
"Since you're somewhat a local here, you wouldn't mind showing me around the city after dinner, would you? Or are you leaving for London, tonight?"

Ignoring the eyes that were now all set on him and Evelyn, he continued to stuff his face until every piece of sushi was completely gone. Then, just like he had done with the hot sake, he downed the remaining cold sake before pressing his back against the back of his seat, placing a hand over his now ‘full’ stomach. Even though he appeared to be satisfied from the mere human meal, he of course, was far from it. The only thing that could possible put an end to his nagging hunger was blood and he was certain he’d be getting it soon.
Flicking his tongue over his fangs, he looked over to the man Evelyn had mentioned before seated at the bar and lifted his shoulders in a shrug. He had ignored her complaint about him drawing attention to them both. It was inevitable anyways. No matter how hard they tried to blend in, both vampires stood out like sore thumbs for various reasons.
The man mentioned just moments before continued to look back and forth between the woman who was seated beside him and Evelyn. It was interesting how this man who at first seemed so interested in his wife perhaps, suddenly had a change of heart as his eyes fell onto the young foreign woman; Evelyn. Kai couldn’t blame him though. The vampiress was stunning.
Hearing the spoon clank against the bowl he turned his attention back to his little friend and watched carefully as she stood from her seat. Was she now feeling uncomfortable? If so then he felt bad for putting her in that position. He himself stood from his seat, removing his wallet from an inside pocket in his coat. Pulling out a couple bills from the clip he dropped it onto the table, leaving a nice big tip for the poor waiter for being so troublesome and turned around to lead Evelyn out.
”I’m going to be in Tokyo for a few more nights so I guess I can play tour guide if you really want me to.” As they passed the table occupied with the four yappy women, he shot them all a wink and made his way to the door. Pressing his cold palm against the glass, he pushed the door open and stepped aside, holding it open for a few people coming in and gestured for Evelyn to go right on ahead.

Yet another thing that separated the humans from them, and proved how supreme vampires were. If vampires had that much time to kill, and were interested in joining an eating contest, they would finish their food, and their competitors food, in a good couple of minutes. But, that would only be if the vampire wanted to join the contest in the first place. Vampires like Kai here, who have more of a human-like connection with the food, would probably interested. Whereas Evelyn would clearly look the other way.
Most vampires that she's met have done this, though. They allowed themselves to slip back into humanity and gorge on all of the foods that they once enjoyed so much in the past. It was common, especially for the vampires that were younger than a century old, for them to talk about how much they missed their cheesecakes, sushi, and big T-bone steaks. Eugh. The thought alone sickened her. She had no idea how their stomaches could handle eating that. Even the miso soup was a bit too much to bare.
"I'm sure there's nothing too different about this city than any other." She commented as she walked out of the restaurant. Yes, the architecture was different, and this city's lights shone brighter that most of the cities Evelyn's been to before, but it was the same as all of the other places, with buildings, cars, streets, and people. It looked like a new, interesting place to visit, but no. Nothing new, nothing different. One of the disadvantages of being nearly a century and a half old; Evelyn has already been there and done that.
Turning around she removed a paper from her tiny purse. She had tons of these in her purse. It was so much easier to have it all ready for the guy instead of wasting time writitng it all out. "I'm going to get myself some real food. It shouldn't take too long, only about an hour." Her arm extended, offering the little white paper to Kai. "I'll be at this hotel and room number. If you feel like accompaning me, I'll see you later." A quick wink and she was off.
Perfect timing, the gentleman from the bar had just left too. The easiest tactic to catch him was to act like one of those cutely stupid foreigners who had no idea what they were getting themselves into when they travelled to this city.
"Uh, excuse me ... excuse me." Stupid was always so annoying to play, but it worked. The taller japanese man turned, an instant smile on his face when he recognized her. She returned a short, confused little smile back. "English?"
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
An hour exactly. It took a bit longer than expected still, but that damn, persistant wife of his just refused to leave the two of them alone. She really should have, though. It's always better to love and to loss than die along with him, unless if you're a stupid romantic and think dying with your "loved on" is really meaningful. It's not like it matters. The both of you are too dead to remember any of it, later.
Oops. A slightly bigger than tiny burp escaped the vampiress mouth as she stepped onto her floor from the elevator. Well, he was a rather large man. It's so hard to find the skinny, yet yummy ones now in days.
She had been wondering, since she left the restaurant, if the vampire would actually join her for the rest of the evening. There wasn't too much to actually do, maybe she would go out running later, but it was a little comforting to have the presence of another immortal around. In a world where the more predominant creature was the most stupid one, it was definitely comforting to spend some time with a creature who could actually keep up with Evelyn.

”The difference between this city and any other city,” he started as Evelyn brushed past him and out the door. ”Is this one is bigger. Much, much bigger.” Which was true. If the buildings weren’t built so tightly together and the streets were made wider, then Tokyo would be more than twice the size it was now and just the thought itself seemed hard to believe. To Kai, it was as if someone had taken another planet and bunched it up and placed it into a tiny space then naming it Tokyo. Before he could say anything more about the topic, Evelyn had turned herself around to face him which had caught him off guard. Arching a brow he watched as she rummaged through her purse only to pull out a single piece of paper before handing it to him. Written on it was the name to a hotel he recognized right away and beneath it was a number. He took one quick glance at it before shoving the note into the front pocket of his jacket. Pale lips parted to speak but not a second was spared for him to speak as she took off after her meal. Women. Always in a damned rush. Shaking his head slightly as a coy grin danced across his lips, he turned and went in the opposite direction in search for a meal himself. Sure he had devoured a meal that would more than likely satisfy a man nearly twice his size but being part of the undead as he was, the human food did nothing but worsen his real hunger; his thirst. Originally he had planned to hunt down one or even all four of the women he had spotted in the restaurant but the chances of running into them again were slim to none. Not that it mattered really, there were thousands of women Kai could feast on and he really wasn’t in any rush to do so. Not like little Evelyn. As he walked through the thronged streets, he contemplated possible places to go and waste time before heading to the hotel to meet up with the Londoner. There were many clubs, more restaurants, cafes, love hotels, strip clubs. ”Hmmm…” The last item on the list seemed to be the most appealing and quite frankly, the easiest. Strippers did anything you asked them to as long as you had the money to pay them for their little deeds and not having money was the last thing Kai had to worry about. So off to the gentlemen’s joint it was. Since he was going to have dinner rather than going for the entertainment, he wanted to go somewhere that had decent looking women. Despite the fact that they were more than likely going to end up dead, leaving their beauty a waste, Kai was a picky eater. If something didn’t look good then well, he wasn’t going to touch it. It wasn’t long before he stumbled across a familiar club; one he had gone to many times before during the times he was a mortal and when he was much younger than he was now. The moment he stepped in he was greeted by a cloud of smoke and the scent of money and sweat. God, I don’t remember it smelling this rotten in here. Instinctively, he moved towards the very back of the vicinity and slipped himself into the first vacant booth he came across. There he sat, waiting for his prey to come to him. __________________________________ Tonight’s meal was easy. Too[./i] easy and Kai couldn’t help but feel a tang of disappointment. He was used to working for his meals but tonight all he had to do was whip out a few bills and he had it. There was no room for complaining though. He had only a certain amount of time to feed before meeting up with his friend again and being late, no matter what the occasion, was never an option for him.
He stood right beside the room door, waiting patiently as he fiddled with his phone, spinning it between his thumb and middle finger. Going straight into the room was an option but he didn’t want to be rude and make her think that he went in to go through her belongings. He had already made somewhat of an awkward first impression on her and didn’t want to ruin it completely by making himself look like some kind of intruder.
Upon hearing the slight ring from the elevator down the hall, he picked his head up and turned towards the lift, waiting for miss Evelyn to appear from it.
"Have a good meal?" he called out even before she stepped foot onto her floor.

It almost felt ironic, feeling excited at the sight of yet another asian in Tokyo. But this wasn't just any asian; he was a vampire, and that is what made this trip so much better.
"Just as delicious as I expected." She answered with a bloodstained, toothy smile. There were a couple of drops splattered along her collar as well. That damn persistant wife. Now Evelyn was going to have to buy a new shirt.
Her hand slipped inside her purse and pulled out the room key. As she walked by the vampire, she couldn't help but catch the scent of his dinner rushing through his veins. "So you finally had something more filling eat, I see." A quick wink as she opened the door and held it open for Kai. "How was your dinner?"
Dropping her purse on the floor, her next destination was the restroom. It was extremely rude to be such a mess in front of company. Evelyn reached for the toothbrush that layed on the counter, spread the paste over it, and immediately began brushing. Yes, vampires brush their teeth, too. Scaring a human with pearly white fangs always pictured out a lot better in Evelyn's mind that yellow, stainy fangs. Besides, she wouldn't want to risk losing any teeth.
Ha, a fangless vampire. Now, THAT would be a funny site.
Her head poked out of the doorway, just to check on her guest. "You can go ahead and make yourself comfortable. I'm just going to change real quick."
Another shirt put to waste. Damn, Evelyn half-way liked this one, too. She instantly tossed the stained shirt into the trash, and then thought about what she was going to wear next. Oh, she did hae this exceptionally adorable mango-coloured dress in her suitcase on the bed.
Oh, yeah. Her suitcase was on the bed, near Kai.
Hmmm, this was going to be interesting.
She didn't mind if wandering human eyes caught sight of her body, it was a body that was definitely a pleasure to look at. But the little mortals can look all they wanted at Evelyn, she didn't care simply because she knew that the fantasies that swirled around in their little minds would never become a reality. She wouldn't be caught dead dealing with a human boy.
But that wasn't a human in the room. Kai was a vampire, and vampires were ... well, the nervousness set in a little more with her own kind, which was understandable, if you knew of her past and her creator. Any intimate connection with anyone of her kind can lead to feelings that Evelyn hasn't felt in nearly 130 years, and she's not too fond of feeling anything like that again.
That didn't mean she was going to stay in the bathroom forever, she just was a little more uncomfortable than usual doing it.
"You might want to close your eyes." She warned before leaving the bathroom. "Well, that is if you can't handle seeing a woman in her bra." She knew she was a tease. That was definitely not a secret to her.
"Sorry, but my dress it out here."

The vampire folded his arms over his chest listening quietly to Evelyn speak as she revealed herself from the elevator. Once again, the tip of his tongue met with the end of one of his fangs making a light ‘click’ or ‘tsk’ sound as he did so. Seeing that he had only fed maybe ten minutes prior to coming to the hotel, he could still taste the strippers’ blood lingering in his mouth. Yes, he had more than one meal as usual. Feeding on only one woman never filled him up so he needed two.
Lifting his head he looked over the vampiress’ attire, quirking a brow a bit as he took notice to the now blood stained blouse. He couldn’t help but let a soft snicker escape him as he shook his head slightly. ”Messy eater are we?” he joked, waiting patiently for her to unlock her room door. Just like she had, he could smell her victim’s blood coursing through her as she passed by toward her door.
”My dinner was… Easy. A little too easy.” With that said, he walked into the room, surveying it a bit before walking further in. He took a moment to debate whether he should flip a light on or not but it was unnecessary. They were both vampires so light was not needed to see no matter how dark it was.
As she walked into the bathroom, he walked past the bed and straight to the window. When he had entered the building, he noted to himself that the view from the room must have been amazing since the hotel was located in the middle of the city. Smiling softly to himself, he curled his cold fingers around the curtains edges and pulled them apart, allowing the city lights to fill the dark room. At that moment he realized just how much he missed living in Japan and a voice in the back of his mind was yelling for him to move back. Maybe.
While his eyes danced over the bright lights of Tokyo, he listened to Evelyn’s footfalls against the carpeted floor. As he was about to turn to face her, her voice pierced through the silence. ”You might want to close your eyes.” Remaining silent, he rolled his shoulders in a shrug, turning his head slightly to the side to narrow his eyes towards her. The following retort made him chuckle.
Using his vampiric speed to his advantage, he crossed the room and over to where she stood but rather than standing before her, he stood behind her; close. Leaning himself forward a bit, he brought his hands up between their bodies before grazing his fingertips along her back. ”No need to be sorry…” he cooed, as he brought himself forward more, letting his head hang over her shoulder a bit. Inhaling softly, he took in her sweet scent as his hands moved around the small of her back to her hips, resting there.

Ah, there it was. The perfect little orange-creme colored dress, perfectly striped in white with a thick black belt surrounding the midsection. It was an absolutely adorable dress, one that Evelyn bought nearly four days ago with money she earned, and yes, she earned it, not stole it. Clarisse was so nice to give her a few pounds for helping her out with an office crises back home.
This was the first dress Evelyn bought with money that could morally be called her own.
She didn't need to turn around to know he was there, at the most, an inch away from her. If air was a necessity for her, and her body wasn't immortal, she would've died from suffocation right there. As his hands approached her, the silky dress slipped between her pale fingers, and every muscle in her body immediately tensed in defense.
For a moment, she wasn't even in a hotel room in Tokyo. Evelyn's mind raced back to London, about a hundred and thirty years ago. Remember this guy? Remember his cold touch and the outcome of it? You don't play victim, Evelyn O'dell, you refuse to be the prey again.
Remember his, your sire's, cold vampire hands against your skin?
His skin wasn't cold like her sire's, though. Of course it wasn't. Evelyn's body was also cold, now, so his large hands slowly sliding across her back felt a normal temperature, but her skin responded shiveringly, just like it did when she was human.
Her eyes shut even tighter as warm, moist air brushed continuously over her shoulder. The edge of her back could barely feel his shirt...
No, her focus removed from her nerves and onto a different sense, like the scent of their latest victims blood, and the sound of it rushing faster through their veins, much like a human's blood would if they were excited and tense. Mmmm .... No, her focus clearly shouldn't be on the blood.
Opening her eyes slowly, as if reluctantly forcing herself to look at some horror picture, she shifted them around everywhere. Seeing if her attention could be brought elsewhere. It wasn't working. Her hands immediately grabbed the ones resting on her hips, now. She couldn't handle this touch. She couldn't let this happen.
"Nnnoo."
Lifting his hands from her waist, her body pushed itself forward and she turned her even more tense body around with narrow eyes gazing at the vampire, giving him a quick once-over. She paused for a moment at his left hand, bare of any jewelry. He was obviously single, and that was obviously a problem.
"I don't do anything physical that might lead to something emotional." She explained. ".. especially with single men. I prefer your heart was kept to yourself, not at risk to be given to me."
Picking up the dress from the floor, she covered up the front of her body and walked past him, over toward the window.
This city's lights were beautiful. So many different colors shining bright. There were so many that it was almost like it was still daytime in Tokyo.
